I stumbled upon Ed's Autohaus after some negative experiences with a couple of other repair shops. I'm so glad I did! I have been taking my cars (older Mercedes, mostly) to Ed's for about 6 years now, and he's by far the best mechanic I've ever had -- and I have pretty high standards. He's extremely knowledgeable, responsive, honest, hard-working, and trustworthy. His work is of high quality and his prices are very reasonable. I have been going to Ed's Autohaus from his beginning. Ed is a masterful mechanic and can work on anything from a Rolls Royce to a Subaru. He has integrity and is a trusted provider of service. I have recommended many friends to Ed and they always come away pleased. He's the only mechanic that I will allow to work on my Porsche. I picked this place because of all the great Yelp reviews! Came because my suspension was not working, as well I needed an oil change. My car was done just a few days later but I've found myself back at Ed's twice for each of these things since. Seems the first suspension part was faulty, ok. After driving less than 1,000 miles my oil change light came on. I get things and circumstances happen but one 'sorry' doesn't make me feel better about dropping over $1600 for these things, then having to come back for BOTH things. My 2018 BMW had an oil leak pooling underneath my car that was discovered by parking attendant. Through Yelp, I found Ed's Autohaus with stellar reviews. I drove my car to his shop early this morning, met this very likeable mechanic named Ed, who dropped what he was doing even though it's not 8am yet to help me right away. Even though I don't know the extent of the problem yet, I had that sense of feeling I can trust him. 

He was able to diagnose and fix the issue at a very reasonable time and cost.

I feel a big relief finding a mechanic in SF that is honest and I can rely on the maintenance of my car going forward. Will definitely recommend him to my family and friends.

Ed is great! I really appreciated how thorough and knowledgeable he is, and how he doesn’t speak down to you, because you’re female!  We have two Volkswagen’s, and he knows his stuff!
